It is funny how in the english part, Tony Blair feels more confident in telling how close he is with N.Sarkozy. He remains a bit distant in the french part..maybe because he knows, Sarkozy is a particuliar character very critisized in France by politicians and many people.

To have the opinion of a french person about my president, I have to admit i disagree with many points with Sarkozy, his harsh and non always respectuous talking made me ask if i could be able to accept him as a leader of our country for the next 5 years. I mean how can you make a country, a world progress if you are not at least espectuous towards people of your own country..

But i really do think he is energetic and really hope he can be a good leader for France and make big and fair changes in the future.

To talk about Tony Blair's french, i am always very impressed to hear him speak, although his accent is very "english" i still like the way he tries hard to pronunciate words right, and the long and difficult expressions he uses..
I am sure French is a very difficult language to speak, and to learn, but not impossible and you have the strength and passion, I am sure you can do it very soon!

Thanks for this podcast, i am not a great fan of politics, but it is always interesting to know which country is close to ours and how they intend to work together for the good of us all..(let's hope it is)

loubna/ thanks for the comment, yeah, he's surely more confident in his overall speech in English, too. I don't know much about politics to mention anything here, especially when it comes to a foreign country, but I heard that a lot of people weren't too happy about Sarkozy's election as a president, but I see articles saying that the supportive rate for him is going up? is that right?

Loubna Aabid :

I think it is too early to say that more people support him..but if right and smart changements come from his presidency, i suppose more people will support him..it is question of time i think.
Just like Blair said, Sarko has a lot of work in front of him.
Now he is president, let's hope he will bring more bright than dark..:-)
