My name is Hyunwoo Sun. I am widely intersted in learning many different languages and I am a firm believer in the quote "Learn a new language, get a new soul." Not that I'm learning all these languages to get multiple souls :-) It's just a lot of fun for me and I am happy that I can find ways to contribute to the people who need help on languages. My goal is to speak 10 languages fluently by the year 2012!!

This year, for the first time, there will be 9 Red Bull BC One Qualifier Battles, where B-Boys from all over the world will be able to qualify for the final battle in South Africa.
Another novelty this year is that one of the 16 B-Boys competing in the qualifier battles will be selected by an online jury. Starting on April 14, B-Boys can qualify by uploading their profiles including photos and video footage to the Red Bull BC One website and get the chance to be one of the 16.
여러가지 외국어를 동시에 공부하고 계신가요? ^^ 한 가지 언어만 공부해도 시간이 부족하다고는 하지만, 사실, 다른 외국어를 조금이라도 접해 보고 난 후에는, '영어로는 이렇게 말하는데, 스페인어로는 어떻게 말할까?' '일본어로는 뭐라고 할까?'하는 궁금증이 생기기 마련이죠. 하지만 혼자서 그렇게 여러가지를 공부하려니 벅차고, 왠지 괜히 시간만 낭비하는 것 같은 생각이 들 때가 있죠.
하지만 공부하려고 관심을 가지는 외국어의 수는 많으면 많을 수록 좋다고 개인적으로 생각하는 저로서는 ^^,'한 가지만이라도 제대로 하는 게 좋을까요, 아니면 여러 개를 동시에 공부해 놓는 것이 좋을까요?'라는 질문을 들을 때면 반드시, '관심이 한 번 생겼으면 절대로 그 관심의 끈을 놓치지 말고 계속 공부하라'고 말합니다. 우리가 그 어떤 외국어를 공부해도, 그리고 아무리 유창해진다고 하더라도, 우리는 여전히 한국인이며, 우리가 한국어를 구사하는 수준으로 외국어를 구사할 수 있다고 믿는 것은 무리입니다. 물론, 아주 잘 할 수는 있죠. 하지만 99%까지는 갈 수 있을지라도 100%는 될 수 없다고 하면, ^^ 어느 정도 적당한 비유가 될까요.
그래서 다른 외국어에 대한 관심이 있는데도 불구하고 '한 가지를 어느 정도 잘 하고 난 다음에'라는 생각으로 미뤄둔다면, 그 '다음에'가 언제가 될지 모릅니다. 동시에 10가지를 공부한다면 당연히 너무나 시간이 부족하겠지만, 두 개에서 세 개 정도를 공부하는 데에는, 효율적으로 공부한다면 그렇게 많은 시간이 소요되지 않습니다. 하루에 각가 한 시간씩만 할애해도 실력을 충분히 늘리실 수 있습니다. ^^

I was supposed to get off at 약수(Yaksu) station to transfer to line number 6, but I was so sleepy(having had almost no sleep last night) that I fell asleep and went past three more stops before I realized I had to go back. Fortunately I wasn't too late for the class but ... I did it again. T.T I hate wasting time on the road.

어제 오후 신촌에 위치한 스터디 및 세미나 전문 공간 TOZ에서, 인턴박의 여름방학 중국인턴쉽 오리엔테이션이 있었습니다. ^^ 이번 여름 방학에 중국에서 인턴쉽을 하기 위해서 가시는 분들과 만나서 이번 중국 인턴쉽 준비 과정에 대한 설명을 드리고, 지난 1월과 2월에 제가 했었던 인턴쉽 경험담과 중국에서의 생활 경험담을 들려드렸고, 또한 김형준 군의 성공적인 인턴쉽 방법에 대한 조언을 들었습니다.
Yesterday afternoon, we had an orientation session for the summer internship to China of Intern+Park at the TOZ(in Shinchon), a place designed to be rent exclusively for seminars and group studies. We met with the students who have registered to go on the summer internship to China this year and explained the necessary procedures of preparation, and I gave a little speech about my internship experience of last January of February, and Hyungjoon Kim also made a speech about successful internship.
신촌 TOZ는 전에도 여러번 가 보았는데 이렇게 시원시원한 세미나실이 있는 줄은 몰랐거든요. ^^ 여러분도 혹시 동호회 등의 모임 장소가 필요하시면 꼭 이용해 보세요. :D 어제는 시간이 많지 않아서 다들 깊이 있게 소개하거나 친해지지는 못 했지만 이번 여름 중국에서 친해지게 될 분들... ^^ 반가웠습니다!
I had been to the TOZ in Shinchon several times before but I never knew they had such a spacious seminar room up there on the 9th floor. I highly recommend this place if you are having a group gathering or a small seminar. We didn't really have the chance to get to know everyone really once since the time was limited but I'm sure we'll all become good friends once we meet again in China. Nice to meet you all!

제가 어제 소개한 5min.com에, 저도 한 번 (5분도 안 되지만) 나름대로의 레슨을 올려 보았습니다. 1990's라고 하는, 제가 제일 좋아하는 비보잉 기술 중 하나로 ^^, 한 마디로 말하면 물구나무를 서서 회전하는 동작입니다. 수업 쉬는 시간에 갑자기 찍어서 몸도 안 풀리고 별로였지만, 그래도 완벽한 영상을 바라다가는 못 만들겠다 싶어서, 곧바로 노트북에 디카 메모리 카드 꼽아서 만들어버렸어요. 허접하지만 그래도 이렇게 ^^ 실천해 볼 수 있다는 것을 보여드리기 위해서!!!
Remember my posting of yesterday? I tried making a lesson of my own and uploaded it in 5min.com today. Haha. This is called 1990's, one of my favorite b-boy moves, and it is basically spinning on your hand in a handstand posture. I filmed this between classes and I wasn't warm yet, but I knew I just couldn't keep waiting for a perfect video, so I put my SD memory card out of my camera right into my laptop, and voila~! It's crappy, but I just wanted to show you how you can do it too, I mean not the 1990's thing, but sharing your knowledge!! ^^
